Due to the alarming statistics on suicide and depression in Ouachita Parish and the Ouachita Parish School System, Superintendent, Dr. Bob Webber, decided to organize a rally that would go to each middle and secondary school in his district to pump hope back into the students and faculty. In doing so, he enlisted the help of three accomplished individuals to take on the daunting task of taking a message of hope into his schools. They are: Flint Smith, Region VIII School Psychologist, Hollis Conway, two-time Olympian and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Area Representative, and our own, Al “big AL” Cherry, entertainer and educator in the system.
